ShareThis "Wow", I exclaimed as I looked out from the amazingly high bridge. I could see everything for miles, the river winding it's way through the trees and eventually gaining speed and becoming a waterfall, which led to a small lake. I could see the elegant city, with beautiful parks and tree's with their ever color-changing leaves. Lastly, I could see the ocean way off in the distance. When I caught sight of it, my breath caught in my throat. It was completely and amazingly wonderful. I could see the waves crashing on the beach and the way the water moved in some kind of rhythm. It was perfect.
I turned my head to the right and my gaze landed on something that was, to me, equally as perfect. I smiled and he turned his head towards me. He smiled, and I almost gasped at its amazingness. I still couldn't believe that he was mine, and I was his.
"This is the best day of my life" I stated, turning my head, once again, to the wonderful landscape.
"Not yet it isn't" he replied. I could almost hear the smile in his voice. I jerked my head to him, once again, my face a question mark. What happened next felt like a dream. It even made people around us stop in their tracks.
Slowly, he started to bend over and lowered himself onto one knee. He reached his hand into his pocket (which he had been doing all morning) and pulled out a little black case. My breath stopped as I stood there, completely paralyzed. He opened the case and I let out a gasp. I small silver ring sat there in the case. It had a diamond on it and it shimmered like the sun. It was the most beautiful thing I ever saw. A drop of wetness leaked from the corner of my eye. Whit a confident smile plastered on his face, his next words shocked me.
"___________ ***, will you marry me" he asked, loud, calm, and confident. My hands flew to my mouth as more tears leaked from my eyes and tumbled down my face.
"Yes". I forced my throat to form the word. The word sounded distant, like it was not my own voice. I lowered my left hand and he slipped the ring on my finger. When he stood up, still smiling, I threw my hands around his neck and crushed my lips against his, tears streaming down my face.
"I love you" he muttered. "I always have and always will"
*** The __________ is the name of the girl, but I don't want to say who it is because it will ruin part of my book on
Writers Cafe. He says the girls first, middle, and last name.
